     Welcome to the online home of Boy Scout Troop 50, the Mighty Bulldogs. We are a Heart of America Council, Pioneer Trails District, Boy Scout Troop in Kansas City, Missouri. We are a boy run troop that has an active outdoor program and we participate in many district and community activities on a year-round basis.

Subject: Troop 50 Spring 2009

Troop 50 enjoyed a fun filled winter with several Scout Achievements and Advancements. Some of our winter camp outs and activities included a trip to Snow Creek, an Astronomy Field Trip, a field trip to an Industrial Cabinet Shop and Shotgun Shooting. One of the highlights of the early winter season is our “Feast in the Forest” in November. Several techniques were used in preparing the turkey and trimmings and a bountiful feast was enjoyed by all! Troop 50 also celebrated our annual Scout Sunday and Chili supper February 22. The Chili Supper was a fun family and community event and was a tremendous success as a fund raiser for the troop! Thanks to all scouts and parents who cooked and served… and a Big Thanks to all of those who enjoyed some delicious Chili! The Troop office also moved to a new home on the other side of the building. Thanks to all those who helped construct, clean and move our gear to the new office!

Seven Scouts earned a total of Eighteen Merit Badges. In addition, several of Troop 50’s adult leaders were honored at the Annual Dinner.

Eagle Scout and Assistant Scout Master Sam Clippinger, for his dedication and contribution to Scouts, Scouting and Troop 50, received the prestigious: “Award of Merit”. This is one of Scouting's highest honors and is certainly well deserved! From all of Troop 50: A BIG HOW-HOW!

Other adult leader awards:
Leanne Wiedemann received the Advancement Chair award.
William Raridon received the Treasurer of the Year Award.
Mark Rainen was also recognized for his work with Scouting.

Committee News:
Committee Chairman Shannon Tucker created a new Troop 50 flyer to circulate though area schools and cub packs to recruit new Scouts.

Summer 2009 Plans:
Troop 50 has lots of summer activities planned, including: Bowling, Caving and Spelunking, Swim Parties, Camp Outs, our annual Canoe Trip and More. Troop 50 will be going to Bartle Scout Camp 6th session (July 26th through August 4th).

Subject: Troop 50 2007-2008

The past year was exciting and event filled for the troop. Several field trips, camping and outings, Including Swimming at the Raridon’s and the Lochmann’s, trips to Power Play for Go-kart racing and Whirly Ball, WW1 Museum, Fencing, Royals Baseball, Boating and Skiing at Lake of the Ozarks and more. Bartle Scout Camp weather, with the exception of a few days, was slightly milder this year. For the year: a total of 13 Scouts combined, received 3 Special Awards- World Conservation, 45 Merit Badges and 1 Religious Award- Ner Tamid Emblem. There were 11 Rank Advancements including 3 Eagles!

Looking Ahead to 2008-2009
As the new Scouting year begins, Troop 50 announces New Leadership with former Scout Master Shannon Tucker being appointed as Committee Chairman. A special thanks to Marc Rainen who resigned from the position, for a job Well Done!
"How-How!"
The Troop is also excited about the hard work and dedication of Toney Wallace and Joe Miseck for their advancement of the Cub Pack. Currently 11 Cubs!

Subject: Troop 50 enjoyed busy and fun summer…

Bartle Scout Camp was Hot! Despite the heat, fun was had by all! Several rank advancements and numerous Merit Badges were earned. A total of 42 Merit Badges were earned by for 16 Scouts. Elections were held for new positions of responsibility within the troop. There were several “Paint” advancements in the Tribe of “Mic-O-Say. Special thanks to Toney Wallace for an excellent job as Camp Master and to Leanne Wiedemann for keeping track of all of the advancements and achievements.

After Camp the transition was made to new Scoutmaster, Dr. Steve Baker. A big “How-How” to Bryan Gross who stepped down for a job well done!

Troop 50 sent a group of young men to Philmont July 4th thru July 16th. The expeditions was led by Sam Clippinger, Rob Krumlauf, Bill Cross and Tim Hannah. Scouts- Mathew K., Nicholas B., Korey H., Jacob R.

Junior leader training was taught by Sam Clippinger at the Lisman Lake House in the Ozarks. Steve Baker, Shannon Tucker, Jennifer Walker and Steve & Mike Lisman also assisted.
The Troop again enjoyed several pool parties hosted by the Lochmann’s and the Raridon’s. And, there were a couple of trips to Power Play for Go-Kart racing.
